Could Diet Help to Prevent Alzheimer’s?

 

There is no such special diet for the persons with Alzheimer’s disease, but the good nutrition can ease in some symptoms and help them for good feel. Research says that low fat and low glycemic (low sugar) diet always help the general health and wellbeing, which may lower the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. But once the symptoms develop then diet or eating plan doesn’t help much.

A low-sugar diet, which emphases on eating fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean meats, avoids spikes in blood sugar. Drink plenty of water.

Growing age is a leading well-known risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease.

Few Alzheimer’s medicines can causes constipation. So to prevent constipation eat fiber diet and plenty of liquids and stay active.

People with Alzheimer’s disease may have increase appetite or thirst, but might have chewing problem and it increases chances of Weight Loss. Proper nutritive diet can help them to prevent weight loss.

Provide the small meals at frequent intervals may be five to six times in a day and more focus on calorie. Provide or give multivitamins as per physician’s advice.  It is advisable to consult the dietitian and prepare the diet plan according to his or her general condition and stage.
